Differential Pressure Flow Measurement

Endress+Hauser’s DP flow portfolio centers on Deltabar transmitters with orifice, Venturi, or pitot primary elements to compute flow from pressure drop. It covers gases, vapors, and liquids over wide ranges, delivering continuous, standards‑based measurement grounded in first principles.

Why DP for flow? It’s versatile, rugged, and cost‑effective, especially at high pressure/temperature or on large lines. Deltabar devices also serve level and filter monitoring, so spares and know‑how can be shared plant‑wide. Endress+Hauser provides pre‑assembled, pressure‑tested valve blocks to simplify installation and maintenance.

The lineup spans classic and electronic DP. Electronic systems place two sensors at the process and compute differential in one transmitter, eliminating long impulse lines and improving response and stability. Endress+Hauser’s electronic DP uses dual ceramic sensor modules with a common transmitter for robust performance.

Diagnostics and compensation are strong. New‑generation Deltabar detects plugged impulse lines, and options like the TempC membrane minimize ambient and process temperature effects. Connectivity includes HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS PA, Bluetooth® Low Energy, embedded web servers, and PROFINET over Ethernet‑APL.

Typical applications include steam distribution and energy balances, plant air and gas networks, fuel and feedwater lines, and liquid transfer where straight‑run and primary‑element standards are practical. With diaphragm‑seal variants for demanding media, the portfolio fits chemical, oil & gas, power, water, and life‑sciences duties.
