Automatic Water Samplers

Endress+Hauser’s automatic water samplers bring lab‑quality, regulation‑compliant sampling to the field and the plant. Stationary Liquistation units and the portable Liquiport share the Liquiline platform to automate time‑, flow‑ and event‑triggered programs, log data, and, via Memosens, add inline sensors so the sampler doubles as a compact measuring station. Stationary systems use modern HFC‑free cooling and vandalism‑resistant housings to protect composites; the portable model offers battery operation for autonomous work at remote sites. Together they cover municipal/industrial wastewater, sewer networks, stormwater, surface and well water, and process‑water monitoring; routines align with ISO 5667.

Liquistation CSF48 is the core stationary sampler, configurable with vacuum or peristaltic dosing, or pump‑less with the Samplefit CSA420 for pressurized lines. Vacuum sampling gives accurate, reproducible volumes at high transport velocity; peristaltic allows cyclic line rinsing and variable volumes. CSF48 adds active cooling, multiple bottle and housing options (plastics or stainless), digital fieldbuses with web‑server access, and up to four Memosens inputs. Specs at a glance include 6 or 8 m suction height (by pump set), sample‑temperature control around 2…50 °C, and cabinets in PS, ASA+PC, or V2A/V4A. Heartbeat Technology supports status‑oriented maintenance, while tool‑free access speeds service.

For mobile investigations, Liquiport CSP44 is a two‑part portable sampler with a lockable lower section for safe bottle transport. It runs from mains or battery, uses a peristaltic pump with up to 8 m suction head, and offers passive cooling via ice or freezer cartridges. Menu‑guided programming and tool‑free wetted‑part removal reduce setup and cleaning time. Two galvanically isolated analog and two binary inputs support flow‑proportional and event‑triggered schemes; optional Memosens inputs let CSP44 operate as a full monitoring station at the sampling point (pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and more). Data logging and statistics are built in to simplify reporting after a campaign.

Complementary options simplify selection. Liquistation CSF34 (North America) and CSF28 (Lean) address standard duties with the same core functions; CSF28 adds a commissioning wizard for fast, error‑proof setup. The Samplefit CSA420 assembly extracts representative samples from pressurized pipes or tanks and pairs with pump‑less Liquistation builds to eliminate waste drainage. Across the portfolio, Ethernet/web‑server access and fieldbuses (PROFIBUS, Modbus; plus analog/relays) streamline DCS integration and remote diagnostics, while Liquiline/Memosens commonality reduces spares.

Flexible programs let you combine time‑based compositing for compliance with flow‑proportional or event‑triggered grabs for process insight, so one device documents baseload and captures peaks. Linking samplers to analytical sensors enables alarms that trigger sampling during high‑load events, while inlet/outlet deployments quantify treatment efficiency and energy use with defensible evidence. Use cases span wastewater self‑monitoring, indirect‑discharger surveillance, CSO studies, river/lake monitoring, well and remediation sampling, and general process‑water QA, delivering traceable samples that stand up to regulatory scrutiny.
