Sludge Level Sensors and Transmitters
Endress+Hauser’s sludge level sensors and transmitters provide continuous ultrasonic measurement of sludge blanket and separation zones so operators can control sedimentation with confidence. The Turbimax CUS71D Memosens immersion sensor emits a sonar pulse and evaluates echo time to locate the interface; an optional automatic wiper keeps the optics clean for long‑term stability in difficult basins. Predefined calculation models and smart signal evaluation help suppress disturbances from floating sludge, gas bubbles, or moving skimmers, supporting fast commissioning and reliable values.
A complete measuring point couples the sensor to Liquiline CM44x transmitters (field or DIN‑rail) via digital Memosens, enabling multichannel architectures and standard plant communications, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/RS‑485, PROFIBUS DP, HART, and 4–20 mA, with an integrated web server for setup and diagnostics. The Flexdip CYA112 modular immersion assembly positions and protects the sensor in open basins or channels. For remote operations and fleet visibility, the Liquiline Edge Module CYY7 streams process and diagnostics data securely to the Netilion IIoT ecosystem, enabling continuous oversight and maintenance planning.
Typical use cases include primary and secondary clarifiers, sludge thickeners, filter backwash monitoring in waterworks, static separation and flotation lines, and process‑water reuse loops. Reliable blanket level, reported as interface level or range, helps “pump sludge, not water,” stabilizes residence time, and supports optimization of chemicals such as polymer or coagulant. CUS71D covers roughly 0.3–10 m and operates to 50 °C; the wiper variant is recommended where clogging/fouling is likely, while standard detectors suit clear settlers or basins with surface skimmers.
