Industrial Thermometers

Endress+Hauser’s industrial thermometers are engineered assemblies, RTD and thermocouple sensors with thermowells, process connections, and optional transmitters, built for reliable, accurate measurement in routine and high‑duty services. The portfolio is compact and modular to fit installation constraints and lifecycle strategies from quick replacements to engineered points.

The iTHERM ModuLine platform anchors the range, giving designers a manageable set of configurable models for most requirements. Options include direct‑contact probes for fastest dynamics, welded or barstock thermowells for mechanical protection, and versions with or without integral transmitters and displays. Threaded, compression‑fitting, and flanged connections cover piping, tanks, and exchangers.

For digital integration, devices support 4–20 mA, HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, PROFIBUS PA, IO‑Link, and Bluetooth® for local setup; selected models add PROFINET over Ethernet‑APL for two‑wire Ethernet into the field. This breadth simplifies DCS/PLC links and eases brownfield APL upgrades.

Endress+Hauser differentiates with mechanical and safety innovations. iTHERM QuickNeck enables tool‑free access to the insert, speeding recalibration; the Dual Seal option adds a second process barrier with failure indication to enhance device health awareness and protection against thermowell breach. Together they shorten maintenance windows.

Sensing performance is driven by proprietary inserts. iTHERM QuickSens places the Pt100 at the tip for class‑leading response (t90 ≈ 1.5 s). iTHERM StrongSens adds extreme shock and vibration resistance (>60 g) for compressors, turbines, and other high‑stress machinery, maintaining stability where standard elements fail.

A broad set of approvals supports use in hazardous areas and safety‑related loops, and the FLEX structure lets you select Fundamental or Extended tiers to match budget and functionality without changing platform. Standardizing on one family simplifies spares, training, and validation across utilities and core process units.

Typical applications include temperature control and monitoring in reactors, heat exchangers, and furnaces, piping runs and skids, tanks and containers, and general service in steam, water, and inert gases. The same platform covers peripheral processes in water & wastewater and power/energy utilities and core chemical and oil & gas units.
